KAZIMIERAS SIMONAVIČIUS UNIVERSITY



Since 1 Jan 2012, with a changed name and management, Kazimieras Simonavičius University has entered a new phase of its activities. Currently, it is headed by Prof. Dr. Arūnas Augustinaitis. The University is changing a direction of activity by making new, relevant study programmes, developing new national and international partnerships. Some of them have established their own businesses and manage them successfully. KSU up to 2012 In the years 2003–2011 the University was functioning as Vilnius Academy of Business Law. Since the establishment, during the years 2003–2004, it was headed by Prof. Dr. Romualdas Stanislovaitis, later in 2005–2011 it was headed by ass. Prof. Dr. Edmundas Trasauskas. It was an academic institution providing university education, which qualified solely business law specialists (Masters of Law). In 2003 the library of the Academy was opened. The biggest a part of the library’s fund consists of the social sciences, law and business literature. VABL has published seven books on law, economics and social science. In 2004Klaipėda part-time study department, headed Prof.hab.dr. Arvydas Virgilijus Matulionis, was founded. At Klaipeda VABL students might select solely extramural (former part-time) Master of Law studies. Since 1 Feb 2012 Klaipėda extramural part-time study department was reorganised into the school of Klaipėda (Dean Academician Dr. Rimantas Stašys). In 2008 VABL became a member of the Lithuanian non-governmental educational establishments association. This association unites 13non-public higher education colleges, offering high-quality studies, recognized not only in Baltic State, but additionally in the international market. In 2013 the University carried out the project “Improvement of Study Efficiency at Kazimieras Simonavicius University” and was awarded study quality management normal ISO 9001:2008.  METHODS OF ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING ACHIEVEMENTS Cumulative assessment is applied.
